MUSIC OPPORTUNITIES

Meet James "Jay" Lachance, our new Director of Music & Liturgy.

James is glad to be serving the All Saints Catholic Parish community. James Lachance previously served as the Director of Music & Liturgy at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Graham, NC where he planned music for Masses and special liturgy, played for funerals and weddings, and directed the young-adult choir. James also has served as the Music Director for Bryant University, and as Associate Music Director for Mary Mother of Mankind, both in Rhode Island.

Mr. Lachance earned a Bachelor of Music History degree from Rhode Island College where he majored in voice with concentrated studies in piano and organ. In addition to piano and organ James also plays the trumpet. He also earned an Associate Degree in Business Management. During his time on the RIC Campus, James mentored young students at the Henry Barnard Laboratory School, and performed in Opera Workshop as a tenor soloist and in the RIC Choir. With the Immaculate Conception Church Choir for five years, he served as a cantor. He began music studies at age of 7 with his grandmother and mentor, Evelyn Montanaro, formerly of the Washington National Symphony.

In his free time, James enjoys long walks with his dog (Jolie), dining out at local restaurants, and spending time with family. James is the oldest of four children of Diana and Philip Lachance of Cranston, RI. James is an avid tennis player. Does he play pickle ball? You’ll have to challenge him to a game and find out!
